Júlia Carina Niemeyer
Professor Niemeyer holds an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences with a specialization in Ecology from UNISC, RS (2001). She furthered her academic qualifications by completing a specialization in Higher Education Methodology at FAMEC, BA (2005), followed by a master’s degree in Ecology and Biomonitoring at UFBA (2004), and a doctoral degree in Biology with a specialization in Ecology at the University of Coimbra, Portugal (2013). Currently, she serves as a professor at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) – Curitibanos Campus. Additionally, she actively contributes to the Graduate Program in Agricultural and Natural Ecosystems (PPGEAN) at the same institution. Her expertise lies within the field of Ecology, with a particular emphasis on Ecotoxicology. Her research work primarily centers around terrestrial ecotoxicology, aquatic ecotoxicology, biomonitoring, and ecological risk analysis. She holds the leadership role in the Ecosystem Ecology Research Group at UFSC and is actively involved in the Conservation Agriculture Research Group at the same institution.
