Professor Melo completed her undergraduate degreein Agronomy atthe Santa Catarina State University (UDESC), Center of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences (CAV). She holds a Master’s and Ph.D. in Plant Production, with a focus on Plant Breeding and Genetic Resources, from the same institution. She has experience in the field of Statistics and Biometry applied to Genetics and Breeding, working on topics such as variance components, breeding for abiotic stress, modeling, and generalized mixed models. Currently she serves as Adjunct Professor I at UFSC – Curitibanos Campus and is one of the Coordinators of the Forest Breeding Research Group (MBF – UFSC).
