GUIDING PRINCIPLES

The Graduate Program in Agricultural and Natural Ecosystems is governed by the following principles:

Mission:

To train human resources with technical, scientific, and humanistic excellence, protagonists in the development of sustainable agriculture, and committed to the regional and global socioeconomic and technological demands.

Vision:

To be a reference in the training of human resources in Agricultural Sciences and in the generation of scientific and technological knowledge, by integrating the use and conservation of agricultural and natural ecosystems, with constant improvements in the quality indicators of the National Graduate System (SNPG).

General goal:

To promote the training of Human Resources in Agricultural Sciences capable of systematizing, generating, and sharing scientific and technological knowledge related to agricultural and natural ecosystems, considering their interdependence and inseparability.

Specific goals:

  • Train active and competent human resources capable of proposing, evaluating, and managing production systems with efficiency and quality, promoting the conservation of agricultural and natural ecosystems in line with existing social demands, acting with ethics and socio-environmental responsibility, and being aware of all forms of diversity;
  • Develop scientific and technological studies in Agricultural Sciences, stimulating creativity, and considering the existing relationships in agricultural and natural ecosystems;
  • Generate scientific and technological knowledge to overcome the challenges in food production and food security through the maintenance of ecosystem services, considering the current inflection points in terrestrial ecosystems.
