(Português do Brasil) Bridges – CAPES GLOBAL
The PPGEAN is part of the BRIDGES academic cooperation network—Building Research and Innovation towards Development and Global Exchange for Sustainability— of the CAPES Global.Edu Program, coordinated by the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). BRIDGES includes five other Brazilian institutions from different regions and aims to promote internationalization and sustainability:
- UFSC (Federal University of Santa Catarina): 86 graduate programs (with full participation of all its graduate programs).
- UFAM (Federal University of Amazonas): 14 graduate programs.
- UFFS (Federal University of Fronteira Sul): 14 graduate programs.
- UDESC (Santa Catarina State University): 11 graduate programs.
- UNIVASF (Federal University of the São Francisco Valley): 11 graduate programs.
- UENF (State University of Northern Rio de Janeiro Darcy Ribeiro): 10 graduate programs.
The project is organized around three main thematic hubs, with PPGEAN being part of the Life on Earth hub, which focuses on the biological and Earth sciences. Through a collaborative governance framework, the network seeks to reduce regional disparities and enhance the quality of Brazilian graduate education in the international arena.
Participation in BRIDGES provides an important opportunity for the program’s internationalization through the exchange of students and faculty members, participation in courses and academic activities abroad, and the hosting of professors from other countries in Brazil.
